Vintage Base Ball returns to the Barnhardt Circle Polo Field in Fort Oglethorpe on July 14 for a double-header beginning at noon.  Mountain City Club of Chattanooga takes on the Highland Rim Distillers from Goodlettsville, Tn. in the opening match at noon.  The Travellers Club of Brentwood, Tn. will play the 2:30 p.m. match against the Lightfoot Club.

"For those not familiar with vintage base ball, this is base ball played by rules, equipment, costume and culture of the 1860s. Think of it as living history through base ball. Players are all volunteers. The game, called a match, is played with wooden bats and no gloves. The players play for the sheer joy of playing and it shows," organizers said.

Watching Vintage Base Ball, parking and touring the 6th Cavalry Museum are free.  Guests are reminded to bring lawn chairs or blankets, as there is no bleacher seating.
