Family Dollar Announces Grand Re-Opening In Chattanooga

Family Dollar Stores, Inc. has announced plans for a renovated store’s grand re-opening in Chattanooga.

 

“Family Dollar is proud to be a part of the Chattanooga community and we’re excited to welcome existing and new customers to our newly renovated store,” said Heather Briganti, Family Dollar spokesperson.

  “In addition to providing everyday low prices and a broad assortment of merchandise, we have expanded our selection of food, beauty and essentials, household products, and seasonal items.  Our renovated store should provide even greater value and convenience to our shoppers.”

 

The grand re-opening kicks off on Thursday, July 12, followed by a celebration for the community at the store on Saturday, July 14. The event will include giveaways and prizes, including reusable shopping bags, cookies and a gift basket raffle. In addition, on Saturday, the first 50 customers will receive a Family Dollar gift card.

 

Family Dollar stores are open seven days a week and offer everyday items for the entire family in an easy-to-shop neighborhood location. The store is at 2101 East 3rd Street.

Georgia Labor Market Sets Records In August

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said  Thursday  that Georgia’s unemployment rate for August dipped below the national number for the first time  in 11 years . The rate, at 3.8 percent, is approaching the state’s record low of 3.4 percent, set in 2000. At 3.8 percent, it is down .1 percent from July. By comparison, the national rate is 3.9 percent. ... 1 Killed In Crash On Highway 58 Saturday Afternoon

Juvenile Shot On East 14th Street On Friday

A juvenile was shot Friday evening on East 14th Street. The Chattanooga Police Department responded at 6:45 p.m. to a person shot in the 2000 block of East 14th Street. Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
