Are you a chalk artist? Do you know a chalk artist?  Your help is asked to spread the word that chalk artists of all skill levels or those who want to experience the art form for the first time are invited to join a project, Labor Day at The Post.  "There’s $250 in prize money on the line, and if the talent displayed at Patriotism at The Post by the chalk artists is any indication, the competition’s stiff," officials said.

Labor Day at The Post is the city’s outdoor family festival held on the Polo Field/Parade Ground of the former Army Post.
Scheduled for Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, the event runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and includes food, arts and crafts vendors, bounce house, petting zoo and pony rides for the kids and musical entertainment, featuring James Rogers at 2 p.m. Admission to the event and parking are free.

"This is not the first-time chalk art has adorned Barnhardt Circle. For Patriotism at The Post on July 3, chalk artists, school students, young and old alike took to the street to showcase their art with smashing success. Patriotic art, super heroes, landscapes and iconic American symbols were just a few of the creations.  The artwork was thoroughly enjoyed by the community. The organizers of Labor Day at The Post are keeping the art movement alive and look forward to chalk art returning to Barnhardt Circle on Sept. 3," officials said.

Anyone who would like showcase their chalk art at Labor Day at The Post should contact the 6th Cavalry Museum at 706-861-2860 or chris@6thcavalrymuseum.com.
