The Junior League of Chattanooga kicked-off the school year with a welcome to Hamilton County School’s new K-5 teachers. At the reception, which took place at Orchard Knob Elementary School, the Junior League contributed school supplies and introduced the committee that will be helping with special projects, providing teacher supplies and additional in-class support to new teachers throughout the 2018-2019 school year.
"New teachers have unique needs. We believe our partnership with the Junior League will help address a variety of these needs and demonstrate our commitment to community-based support," said Brent Page, Hamilton County's K-5 new teacher coach. "We hope this partnership will minimize feelings of isolation new teachers can often experience, and we are truly grateful for our partnership with the Junior League and their commitment to supporting new teachers alongside us."
The Adopt-A-Teacher program is part of the Junior League of Chattanooga’s A League of Learners initiative, which is focused on fostering lifelong learners in the Chattanooga community. The Junior League supports Hamilton County’s schools, teachers, children and adults through funding for special projects and partnerships with other local organizations to provide an active volunteer base.
