  • Monday, August 13, 2018

Celebrations: a Community Collaboration is a group of independent artists dedicated to rejuvenating the Chattanooga arts community through collaborative live performances. Organizers are currently planning its second performance that will include a four-class workshop during the day on Saturday, Aug. 25.

There will be four beginner classes to the public: ballet, contemporary, hip hop, and clay. The workshop will be 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and a $25 flat rate covers any or all of the classes.

The production will be from 6-9 p.m. and will feature local thriving and emerging artists from the Chattanooga area. The production will include 10 dance performances with 25 dancers, live pottery and visual art demonstrations, five visual artists, and three musicians.

"The event is so unique in that we give the audience an opportunity to engage with the performers through guided movement improvisation," said founder Jenison Owens.

The classes and production will be held at SPOT Venue, 3214 Brainerd Road.

Admission for the performance will be $12 for kids (10 and under) and seniors, and $15 for adults.

Merchandise may be purchased here

Celebrations is an ArtsBuild Community Arts Partner. and is also sponsored by SPOT Venue and Cliqk Photography.
