He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Thelma Reed; wife, Diane Reed; brothers, Floyd (Son) Reed Jr. and Wayne Reed; and sisters, JoAnn People, Sue Cope, Jerald Hendricks, Cathy Philips and Hattie Farris.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Whitney (Robert) Roden, Lindsay (Brandon) Oglesby, Jennifer (Joe) Cross and Cindy Ingram; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Lori) Reed, Larry Reed and Archie (Brenda) Reed; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria (David) Cobb, Tammy (Karl) Lee, Kim (Joe) Foster and Billie Joe Compton; grandchildren, Rylee and Sydnee Roden, Addison and Kinlee Cross, Landon and Lila Oglesby; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel, with Rev. Lavonne Powel officiating.
