The Tennessee Public Utility Commission will hold a public hearing on a petition for a general rate increase by Chattanooga Gas Company. The company has requested an increase of approximately $6.2 million, which would equate to an average increase of 19.5 percent across all Chattanooga Gas customers.
The Tennessee Public Utility Commission will hear testimony from witnesses on the company’s petition and will determine whether the company’s rate request should be approved.
The hearing will be held Monday at 9 a.m. CDT in the Hearing Room G.201 on the ground floor of the Andrew Jackson State Office Building at 500 Deaderick St. in Nashville.
Chattanooga Gas Company filed a petition on Feb. 15 for a general rate increase with the Tennessee Public Utility Commission. Chattanooga Gas Company has requested the rate increase to allay the cost of service to the company including additional proposed investments in its natural gas systems. The public is invited to attend Monday’s hearing.
