Martha Kaye Thomas, 55, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Leona Mastin and was preceded in death by her brother, Greg Mastin.

Martha was a graduate of Ooltewah High School. She was a former police detective with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and also worked with child abuse cases. She later worked at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport with police and fire departments.

She was a member of Bellefonte Baptist Church in Cleveland.

Survivors include her husband, Roy E. “Gene” Thomas, daughter, Jodi (Don) Burton, grandson, Maddox Pierce, brother, Bob (Pat) Mastin, all of Ooltewah, brother, Ken (April) Mastin, of Birchwood, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Antioch Baptist Church, 2807 Old Alabama Road SW, McDonald, Tn. 37353, with Pastor Mike James officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at the funeral home and from 1–2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the church.
