The residents of Morning Pointe of Hixson said they are dedicated to ending Alzheimer’s disease. Officials said they have been working tirelessly to create unique, handcrafted pieces of jewelry, the profits from which they will donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. The jewelry will be sold for $8 at Morning Pointe’s “Movie Night at The Barn” event on Sept. 8. “Movie Night at The Barn” will take place at The Barn in Hixson and will be the senior living community’s first event celebrating National Assisted Living Week 2018, which runs from Sept.
9-15. All proceeds from that event, as well as donations, will go to support the Alzheimer’s Association.
“All money [raised by the sale of the jewelry] supports a mission that is very near and dear to our hearts, and that is to hopefully one day find a cure for Alzheimers,” says Christine Rivers, the life enrichment director at Morning Pointe of Hixson.
