Jo Alice Brackney, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018.
She was a longtime resident of Rhea County, a member of the Dayton First Baptist Church, where she was in the joyful helper Sunday School Class, was a devoted pastor's wife and involved in the church literacy missions, and a member of the W.M.U. Her hobbies were doing needle point and embroidering, and she was an avid reader.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Ted Dick and Pauline Bradley Dick; her husband, Dr. Bob W. Brackney; one brother, Bill Dick; and a grandson, Michael Lynn Conver.
Surviving are three children; Deborah (Ray) Talley of Dayton, Patti (Ron) VanTreuren of Goslen, Ky. and Tim (Donna) Brackney of Savannah, Ga; one brother, Ralph R. Dick of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral home with Rev. Milton Knox officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, Tn.
Visitation is Monday, Aug. 20, from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
