Esther Helton narrowly defeated Jonathan Mason in the knock-down, drag-out House District 30 contest.
Yusuf Hakeem, former member of the City Council, won in the Democratic primary for House District 29. He was endorsed by Rep. JoAnne Favors, who is retiring. He faces Republican Lemon Williams in the November voting.
Rep. Marc Gravitt is leaving House District 30 to seek the Register of Deeds post.
