Betty Rogers Nye, 90, passed away to her heavenly home on August 16, 2018, in Bradenton, Florida. 

Betty was born and raised in Chattanooga, but also spent a big part of her life in Seminole, Fl.

In Chattanooga, she was a Past Matron of Sunnyside OES and a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was active in the “WOW” Women’s Bible Study group which she loved. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Nye, parents, Albert and Ruth Rogers, brothers, Albert and Ed, sisters, Joan Thomas and Shirley Hatfield, and son-in-law, Mike Kuhne.

She is survived by two daughters, Dot Kuhne, Ginger (Larry) McMillen, four grandchildren, Bridget (Anthony) Diaz, Kim (Scott) Stone, Kelley (Scott) McAllister, Ryan McMillen, eight great grandchildren, Ansley, Aidan, Brennan Diaz, Garrett, Delaney, Bronson Stone, Mallory and Makenna McAllister, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Nye, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Brainerd at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, with Pastor Chris Mullis officiating. Interment will follow with a private service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
