Roberta Jackson poses for a selfie with some of the members of First Christian Church
Morning Pointe of Chattanooga – Shallowford resident Roberta Jackson received the surprise of her life when members from her church, First Christian Church in Dayton, surprised her with a musical concert. Ms. Jackson is a former music teacher, and a few of her former students wanted to show their appreciation for all of the time she spent with them, teaching them piano and vocals. The students set up a date with the life enrichment director at the assisted living community and then got to work planning every detail of the special day.
On the day of the event, Morning Pointe associates were on hand to ensure that Ms. Jackson attended the Sunday afternoon “musical concert.”
"Imagine her surprise when she saw who was waiting on her. Most of us are never able to see just how many people we have affected, but Ms. Jackson had the unique opportunity to see many of these individuals together in one room," officials said.
“She was shocked when she arrived in the activity room and found so many of her church members [whom] she hasn’t seen in several years,” said Holly Holcomb, the life enrichment director at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga – Shallowford. An afternoon of music and conversation followed.
