The Colonnade Players will be holding auditions for Shakespeare's Henry the Fifth Thursday, Aug. 30, with callbacks as needed Friday, Aug. 31.
The show will perform Nov. 9-18 and will rehearse three or four nights a week, with flexibility depending on the schedule of the cast.
Directed by James Ogden, the show will be a movement-based, no-holds-barred adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic history of a king at war. Organizers are looking to build a highly-physical and collaborative ensemble of principally men to portray 44 characters from queens to commoners. All ages 13 and up are encouraged to audition.
Participants should arrive at 6 p.m. to fill out an audition form and warm up, and at 6:30 p.m. auditions will begin. Auditions will be held as a group and will focus on creativity and movement, so no prepared materials or prior theatrical experience are required, just come ready to make bold choices and have fun telling stories.
