CSCC’s Ballard Receives Cengage Unlimited Subscription Scholarship

  • Friday, August 24, 2018

Rosie Ballard, a student at Cleveland State Community College, has been selected to receive a Cengage Unlimited Subscription Scholarship.

Phi Theta Kappa has partnered with Cengage Learning to provide 1,000 members with access to Cengage Unlimited, a subscription to Cengage’s learning materials for the semester. Cengage Unlimited provides one-of-a-kind access to digital learning platforms, eBooks, online homework and study tools, in addition to affordable textbook rentals.

“I was excited to hear that I won this scholarship,” stated Ms. Ballard. “I will have unlimited access to all of these e-books and it will last for two years, so I will be able to use it when I transfer to Lee University.”

“I am thrilled for Rosie and for all of our PTK scholarship recipients,” stated Karen Dale, PTK advisor. “Over the past few years it has been an honor to work with our students as Phi Theta Kappa Advisor, and I especially enjoy helping them apply for scholarships and celebrating the results.

“Rosie is an outstanding student. I met her when she came as a homeschool student to audition for our Music Program and Vocal Rhapsody, and I have had the pleasure of seeing her grow in confidence and leadership over the course of her freshman year. She is always hard-working, responsible, diligent and respectful.”

Ms. Ballard stated, “I have been able to meet so many sweet people through PTK, so I’m very thankful for that. I have had such a wonderful experience at Cleveland State. I was home-schooled, and I’ve learned so much about how to study and prepare for tests and quizzes, and that has been a huge confidence boost for me. It was quite a transition from never having been in a public school experience, to all of a sudden being immersed in that, but there are so many great people at CSCC that have helped make it easier.”

Ms. Ballard is not only involved in PTK, but she is also involved in Cleveland State’s Vocal Rhapsody and Chamber Choir. She plans to transfer to Lee University to major in Music. She is the daughter of Jonathon and Jill Ballard of Cleveland.
