  • Tuesday, August 28, 2018

HHM CPAs, a full-service CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga and Memphis, announces the appointment of Pam Morris, CPA, CGMA, CFE, as chief operating officer, a new position within the firm.

Ms. Morris began her career at HHM in 2013 as partner and served in her role until 2015 when her passion for small businesses led her to co-found Freight Depot Accounting, an affiliate company of HHM. FDA launched in 2015 with the full support of the firm to provide startups, small to medium-size businesses, and nonprofits with professional accounting services.

"As HHM’s COO, Morris will oversee daily operations and administrative processes of all departments including recruiting and service organization.

She will set comprehensive goals to drive growth and continue improving client experiences while leading employees to encourage high performance and retention. Morris will continue her involvement within FDA, leaving the operations manager to oversee day to day processes while Morris focuses on her new COO position," officials said.

“Pam has been a key member of HHM’s management team for many years,” said Donnie Hutcherson, HHM managing partner. “She has been vital in the success of the firm and will execute operations as we continue to grow. When I decided to fill the COO position, I realized the person who knew our firm well and had the qualifications we needed was already in the building. Pam has a long successful history here at HHM and truly shares our passion for service excellence.”

Ms. Morris has held many high-level management positions during her 30-year tax and accounting career. She has served as a partner at a regional accounting firm, where she was responsible for tax planning and consulting for multi-entity companies. She has also owned several small businesses and served as regional controller for a multinational gas company.

Ms. Morris currently serves on The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and is a mentor to a Dean’s Advisory Board Scholarship recipient, a program headed by the Dean for the College of Business, Robert Dooley.
