15-Year-Old Girl Rescued After She Fell 50 Feet At Rainbow Falls

A 15-year-old girl who fell 50 feet at Rainbow Falls on Signal Mountain was rescued by emergency personnel on Sunday afternoon..

Signal Mountain Fire Department officials reported the girl was conscious and alert. Her injuries are unknown at this time. 

Rescue efforts were dispatched to 394 Alexian Way around 3 p.m. Due to the rocky and steep terrain, a mutual aid response for additional manpower was requested by the Signal Mountain Fire Department.

Agencies who responded included the Dallas Bay VFD, Chattanooga Urban Search and Rescue Team,  Sequoyah VFD, Hamilton County Marine Rescue, Cave and Cliff Team, and STARS. The Red Bank FD and Lone Oak FD were standing by at stations for additional emergency calls.

The rescue effort took several hours.
