Greater Chattanooga Annual Economic Outlook Luncheon Set For Aug. 14

Greater Chattanooga Realtors and The Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga will co-host the annual Economic Outlook Luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at the Chattanooga Marriott Downtown and Trade Center for its members, local businesses, and community leaders.

 

The event, which will begin at 11:30 a.m., will feature the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research, Lawrence Yun, Ph.D.

as this year’s keynote speaker.

 

Dr. Yun will discuss recent developments in the national and local housing market and how those developments will impact the Chattanooga region’s economy. Dr. Yun will provide insight for Chattanooga’s real estate market and the direction of home prices in the next 12 to 24 months. In addition, Dr. Yun will review past housing cycles and low oil/strong dollar impact to forecast Chattanooga’s economy and housing market.

 

Dr. Yun oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Harvard University Industrial Economist Council. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. Dr. Yun appears often as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal and is a regular guest columnist on the Forbes website.
