Senator David Perdue commented on the Trump Administration’s action to re-impose sanctions that were lifted under the Iran Nuclear Agreement.
He said, “President Trump is right to apply maximum pressure on Iran. It’s clear that the Iranian regime has no intention of ending their support of terrorism, development of nuclear weapons, and aggressive behavior in the region.
Reinstating these sanctions will create real financial consequences for Iran’s irresponsible activity and counter the regime’s regional influence. Earlier this year, I supported President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the weak, poorly-negotiated Iran Deal. The Trump Administration is putting pressure on Iran to bring them back to the table and ensure they never possess a nuclear weapon.”
