District 1 City Councilman Chip Henderson is facilitating the third meeting between The Friends of Mountain Creek Committee representing Mountain Creek area residents and Pratt Developers regarding Pratt’s proposed development of residential units and high density apartments on the old Quarry Golf Course on Mountain Creek Road.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall, 848 Ashland Terrace.
The Friends of Mountain Creek have now gathered 1400 signatures of area residents who oppose this development on the grounds it would have an adverse environmental impact, cause flooding and drainage issues, degrade the existing road infrastructure, and create public safety concerns due to increased traffic congestion.
Councilman Henderson continues to work with both parties and is seeking a compromise solution that will address the concerns of both residents and the developer.
The meeting is open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
