Orange Grove Resident Was Avid Sports Enthusiast

Danny Clippinger, Jr., 65, a native of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, September 9. 2018.

Danny was a resident of Orange Grove Center and an avid sports enthusiast. The family will always remember Danny for having a smile on his face.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neetsie and Daniel R. Clippinger, Sr.

Surviving are his sisters, Pamela (Jack) Denton of Snellville, Ga., Christine Clippinger of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Terri (Manuel) Arriaga of Chattanooga; and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bishop Richard Coleman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.

Marilyn Lloyd, who represented the Third District in Congress for 10 terms, has died at the age of 89. Ms. Lloyd got into politics after her husband, TV anchor Mort Lloyd, was killed in a plane crash in 1974. Mort Lloyd had won the Democratic primary to oppose Rep. Lamar Baker. A Soddy Daisy couple reported a theft at their residence netted thieves over $56,000 in items. The couple said the thieves may have picked their residence because they posted on Facebook that they were vacationing in Gatlinburg. Michael Lee Leming, 42, has been arrested in the case.
