Arson Suspected In Fire At Piney Woods Baptist Church Sept. 2; Reward Offered For Information

A fire investigator with the Chattanooga Fire Department has determined that the cause of the fire on Sept. 2 at the Piney Woods Baptist Church, 614 E. 52nd St. was intentionally set.

The dollar loss from that fire was estimated at $150,000 for the building and its contents. No one was injured.

Anyone who has information about the cause of this fire is urged to call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. A cash award of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
