Mitch McClure To Speak On 'It Can Happen To You '

Middle Valley Church of God, located at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson announced that Pastor Mitch McClure will speak on the topic, 'It Can Happen To You ' in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.

This sermon is the first of a four part series on depression and Christians.  Pastor Mitch McClure said, 'The cares of life are difficult.  We are all subject to them.  No one is exempt.  At times we all get down or get the blues or feel sad.  Christians must know that God is interested in helping them work through the difficult times of life.'

Pastor McClure will lead the congregation in a time of worship and prayer on Sunday,  September 16, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes are available for all age groups.

Presently Pastor McClure is leading an interactive Bible study based on 'Theophany.' a book by Vern Poythress.  This book deals with God appearing to humanity through history and how He continues to desire a relationship with humanity today.  The study will be help on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Administrative classroom.

Middle Valley Church of God has been involved in community from the same location since 1946 and continues to partner with many local organizations.  The church also is involved in multiple ministries in Cusuna, Honduras with orphans and widows.  

All services are open to the public and everyone is welcome to participate.

Marilyn Lloyd, who represented the Third District in Congress for 10 terms, has died at the age of 89. Ms. Lloyd got into politics after her husband, TV anchor Mort Lloyd, was killed in a plane crash in 1974. Mort Lloyd had won the Democratic primary to oppose Rep. Lamar Baker. A Soddy Daisy couple reported a theft at their residence netted thieves over $56,000 in items.
