Bobby Rea
Robert Rea, Jr. (Bobby), 83, passed away peacefully at home in LaFayette surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Robert was born in LaFayette on May 10, 1935 to Robert Rea, Sr. and Sibyl Wardlaw Rea.
He was a graduate of LaFayette High School class of 1953, and attended West Georgia College. He was a member of LaFayette First Baptist Church, a former Rotarian and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Rea’s Florist for 34 years and worked as a realtor for several years.
Survivors include sister, Mary Eugenia (Jeanne) Hammontree; brother, Fred W. (Ellen) Rea; nieces, Donna (Jimmy) Henry and Lou Rea (Scott) Underwood; great-nieces, Megan (Robert) Boatwright of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and Ashley Henry of Augusta, Ga.; great-nephews, Lance Underwood and Clayton Underwood of LaFayette; great-great-nephew, Colton John Boatwright; and cousins, Anna Paul Frederick and Mary Elizabeth Raines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home with visitation starting at noon. Rev. Derrick Fielder will officiate.
Interment will follow in the LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
