Bulah Elizabeth Finley
Bulah Elizabeth Rivers Finley, 74, passed away on September 13, 2018 with her family by her side.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Chattanooga, and graduated from The Howard High School. She worked as a private duty CNA and for Life Care for more than 30 years. She had great love for all of her patients. She was kind and gentle and would help anyone.
She was an active member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she served for many years on the Usher board until her health failed. After her illness, she would attend services with her daughters at Transforming Faith Baptist Church and Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Finley, Jr.; her parents, Thurman and Ida Mae Rivers; brother, Ulysses Rivers and Thurman Rivers, Jr.; sisters, Cordia Mae Crawford and Yvonne Edwards; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Finley; and grandson, Tracy Deon Finley.
She is survived by her children, Carlton Deon Finley, Dalton Ga, Orson Bernard Finley (Paula), Alpharetta, Ga, Charlese Maxwell (Kenneth), Chattanooga and Monica Hubbard (Lawrence) Chattanooga. Grandchildren, Tquisha Lynn Michelle Finley, Ashley Elizabeth Thomas, Alicia Dupre Finley, Jonathan Bernard Hubbard, Sydney Sharese Finley, Paul Anthony Harrison (Brittany), Brittany Finley, Courtney Finley, other relatives and dear friends.
The body will lie in state beginning at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Transforming Faith Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerome T. Rogan officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
