WTCI will host Family Day, a free annual event, Sunday, Nov. 11, from 1-4 p.m. at the Tennessee Valley’s community PBS station. Hosted at 7540 Bonnyshire Dr., behind the Bonny Oaks Drivers Service Center, this free event will have PBS fun, activities and entertainment for people of all ages.
Children of all ages will enjoy a petting zoo, touring a Chattanooga Fire Department fire engine, face painting, games, activities and demonstrations from community education partners. Photo opportunities will be available for children with Clifford, Curious George and Super Why! and kids of all ages will enjoy learning about all of the fun, free PBS KIDS games, apps and resources at this community event. Guests are invited to bring a gently-used book for a swap to benefit HCDE schools and a canned good item or new socks to support the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
Green screen activities, storybook reading and music will entertain children and parents as they tour the community PBS station, engage in PBS KIDS activities and learn about PBSLearningMedia.org resources.
Paul Grove, president and CEO of WTCI said, “Our team looks forward to hosting this event each year because it is an opportunity for WTCI to share the many free PBS resources that are available on-air and online with the families who can use them to support success in school and life.”
