CHI Memorial Rees Skillern Cancer Institute will host a Survivorship Empowerment class on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. that will "help survivors develop habits that will help them live well after cancer." The free class is open to all cancer survivors, regardless of where they received treatment, and their care givers.
During the Survivorship Empowerment class, participants will learn about the role of nutrition in reducing the chance of cancer recurrence. There will be a cooking demonstration and food sampling with dietitians from the CHI Memorial Reese Skillern Cancer Institute. Survivors and guests will also learn how exercise and physical activity can help manage the side effects from chemotherapy and improve quality of life for cancer survivors.
