Woman Injured In House Fire In Birchwood On Monday

A woman was injured Monday morning in a house fire in the Birchwood area.

The homeowner called 911 at 9:33 a.m. reporting a fire at her residence.

The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded to 5826 Grasshopper Road and reported a mobile home with light smoke coming from the eaves. Once firefighters confirmed all residents were out of the house, they entered the home to find a bedroom on fire. Lt. Cody Lewis, Highway 58 VFD, reported the 62-year old woman suffered minor burns. She was treated on the scene by HCEMS and refused transport to the hospital.

Lt. Lewis confirmed the fire started in the bedroom. The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Damages are undetermined at this time.

The American Red Cross was requested to the scene and assist with the family’s emergency needs.
