Others who say they became sick after drinking well water from the River Drifters Restaurant have joined in a lawsuit.

Tina Rogers initially sued the restaurant on Suck Creek Road and its owners, Charles and Renee Eich, as well as property owner Robert L. Newman.

Plaintiffs now are Tina Rogers, Eric Rogers, Timothy Barnett, David Broome, Joan Broome, Barry Condra, Timothy Hargiss, J.M.

Pearson, M.E. Pearson and Amanda Willis.

The Circuit Court complaint when filed sought to be declared a class action lawsuit and include others who became ill from drinking the water, attorney Bo Hixson of the firm of Evans Harrison Hackett said.

The Health Department said other individuals reported becoming ill from drinking the same water.

Ms. Rogers said she ate at the restaurant on Aug. 4 and drank the water, not knowing it was well water and might contain contaminants.

She said she had to go to the hospital afterward after becoming very ill.

The suit asks unspecified damages.

The Eichs formerly operated Cheeburger Cheeburger near the Aquarium.
