The Baylor girls soccer team hosted Hardin Valley in a non region soccer match on Tuesday. Baylor scored two goals in the first half and went on to win 2-1.
Baylor's first goal came in the 18th minute when Avery Davis scored off a breakway to put Baylor up 1-0.
At the 31st minute, Baylor's Mya McGee received a pass from Gracie Spurling and scored off the dribble.
At the 46th minute, MacKenzie Smith (HV) scored off a penalty kick to make it 2-1.
"I was really proud of our team effort tonight," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "We had a group of girls get hurt, but we had players step up and do a great job tonight.
It was exciting to see us play with so much heart and determination tonight."
Both teams ended with seven shots on goal.
Baylor's Shannon Urey and Peyton Randolph combined for six saves.
Hardin Valley's Taylor Mauck had five saves.
Baylor's overall record is now 7-1 and Hardin Valley falls to 3-4-1.
