Fowler, Barbara June Eaker (LaFayette)

Barbara June Eaker Fowler, 78, of LaFayette, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Fowler; daughter, Treva June McGuire; granddaughter, Amanda Bishop Fowler; sisters, Doris Ledbetter White, and Carolyn Eaker Sosebee; brother, Allen "Rufus" Eaker; parents, Allen Chatman Eaker and Myrtle Lowrance Eaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Michael) Palmer of Summerville, and Eva (Stevie) Lay of LaFayette; sons, John Fowler, James “Red” Fowler, and Mark Fowler all of LaFayette; sister, Darnell (Jerry) Eaker “Punkin” Osburn of LaFayette; grandchildren, Alisha Silvers, Lexie McGuire, Garrett and Dylan Silvers, Jada Bishop, Aaliyah Smith and Jamie Wimpy; several more grandchildren,  great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.  

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Jennings officiating.

Interment will follow in the Subligna Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Michael “Mikey” Bean, Stevie Lay, Zack Hutsell, Joshua McGuire, A.J. Stricklin, Dakota Smith, Jeff Hardin, Tannen Ramey, grandsons, and great grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Ivey, James Michael "Mike" (Rock Spring)

James Michael "Mike" Ivey, 71, of Rock Spring, Georgia, left this world all too soon after a brief illness.  Mike was a sergeant in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was instrumental in bringing digital claim technology to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee before later retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. J. L. Perry, 71,   of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Jerry was born in Pleasant Hill, Tn., to the late Jimmy and Ruth Perry.  He served our country in the Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard with over 33 years of service. James "Al" Smith

Proud submarine veteran, James 'Al' Smith died on October 11, 2018, in Hixson. He served on the USS Carbonero and USS Cochino. The Carbonero completed two patrols in World War II. Al became a Baptist minister after injury ended his career in paper mills. He also umpired youth leagues around Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna who passed in 1996. ... Chattanooga Police Investigating Shooting That Victim Says Happened A Week Ago

Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital on Friday evening after a person arrived with a gunshot wound.   The injured man told police he was shot on Thursday, Oct. 11.
