Esther Helton Announces Series Of Voter Meetings For Tennessee House District 30 Race

  • Friday, September 7, 2018

Republican nominee for Tennessee House District 30 Esther Helton pledges to run a grassroots, voter-focused campaign that will be void of the political stunts and theatrics that have been rejected by voters and harm voter trust.

“In the primary, our team knocked on thousands of doors, sent multiple direct mail pieces and ran a positive campaign based on the issues important to District 30 voters. I pledge to do the same thing in the Nov. 6 General Election because voters deserve to hear directly from candidates instead of dealing with the negative attacks and political innuendoes that seem to dominate our elections today,” noted Ms. Helton, a nurse who has worked in direct patient care for more than 35 years. “I heard the voters loudly in their frustrations with all of the hype and mud-slinging that seems to dominate pollical races today.”

In keeping with this promise, the Esther Helton Campaign announces plans to hold a series of voter meetings at the following locations, beginning in mid-September:

·       Week of Sept. 17… Maple Street Biscuit – East Brainerd (2114 Gunbarrel Road)

·       Week of Sept. 24… Wally’s Restaurant – East Ridge (6521 Ringgold Road)

·       Week of Oct. 1… Panera Bread – East Brainerd (1810 Gunbarrel Road)

·       Week of Oct. 8… Wired Coffee – Collegedale (5707 Main Street)

·       Week of Oct. 15… Chick-fil-A – Brainerd (5830 Brainerd Road)

The exact data and time for each voter meeting will be announced in the coming weeks. In addition to these voter meetings, Ms. Helton plans to hold additional “Meet and Greet” events that will be in various District 30 neighborhoods and private homes after the campaign resumed its door-to-door canvassing this past Saturday.

“We know voters are tired of the ambush-type politics that feed the news cycle but does nothing more than create a public fight rather than help voters understand the differences between the two candidates in this race. Esther won the Republican Primary by talking directly to voters and running a positive, issue-based campaign, and she is committed to taking the same approach for the General Election,” said Dillon McGregor, campaign manager for Ms. Helton. “We are not going to be part of the shameful behavior that has been peddled as campaigning. Esther has learned it doesn’t pay to get into mud fights.”

District 30 for the Tennessee House includes East Brainerd, East Ridge, parts of Collegedale, Apison, East Lake, Missionary Ridge and the area on the southern side of Brainerd Road. Early voting for the General Election begins on Oct. 17, or less than two months away, and Election Day will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
