Beckmann, Barbara (Ringgold)

Barbara Beckmann, 80, of Ringgold, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  Barbara was born July 28, 1938 in Cleveland to the late Dennis and Margaret Stevison.  She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, North Georgia area and graduate of Lakeview High School, Class of 1955.  Barbara was of the Baptist faith and served as a registered nurse for over 40 years.  She was an avid traveler, enjoyed spending time with friends and family and liked to read in her free time.  
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dr. George Beckmann; son, Lance D. Beckmann; her parents; and step-father, Harold Hutcherson.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” (Ron M.D.) Crabtree, of Wenatchee, Wa.; son, Richard “Rick” (Tammy) Beckmann, of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Lisa Beckmann, of Macon Ga.; brother, Richard (Sarah) Stevison, of Ringgold; grandchildren, Ryan and Will Beckmann and Madison Felts; great-grandchildren, Royce and Newman Felts and Sterling Beckmann; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. George Rye officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.

Lanier, Frankie Elaine (Dunlap)

Ivey, James Michael "Mike" (Rock Spring)

James Michael "Mike" Ivey, 71, of Rock Spring, Georgia, left this world all too soon after a brief illness.  Mike was a sergeant in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was instrumental in bringing digital claim technology to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee before later retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. J. L. Perry, 71,   of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Jerry was born in Pleasant Hill, Tn., to the late Jimmy and Ruth Perry.  He served our country in the Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard with over 33 years of service. James "Al" Smith

Proud submarine veteran, James 'Al' Smith died on October 11, 2018, in Hixson. He served on the USS Carbonero and USS Cochino. The Carbonero completed two patrols in World War II. Al became a Baptist minister after injury ended his career in paper mills. He also umpired youth leagues around Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna who passed in 1996. ... WWTA Releases Timetable That Would Have Ooltewah Sewage Treatment Plant In Operation By 2025; Public Meetings Set At Central High

Mark Hazelwood's Attorneys Ask That He Be Allowed To Spend Christmas With His Family

Attorneys for former Pilot Travel Centers president Mark Hazelwood are asking that he be allowed to spend Christmas with his family before self-reporting to begin serving a 12 years and six months federal prison sentence.
