East Brainerd House Severely Damaged In Sunday Afternoon Fire

A fire at a house in East Brainerd on Sunday afternoon caused $225,000 in damage to the home and contents.
 
At 3:46 p.m., Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 8517 Creekstone Dr.
 
Battalion Chief Nate Middlebrooks said the fire appears to have started in a bathroom and then spread up into the ceiling. The firefighters quickly got the fire out in the bathroom, but had to open up the ceiling in numerous locations to get to the fire.
 
No one was injured.

Chief Middlebrooks said no one was home when the fire was discovered. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
