McGary Edwards, 92, has died due to injuries he sustained in an accident on Jan. 4.
The Traffic Division responded to 2300 Wilcox Boulevard on Jan 4, at approximately 10:24 a.m., on a two-vehicle crash.
A Kia Soul was traveling west on Wilcox Boulevard in the left lane, and a Nissan Sentra was stopped at the stop sign at Monroe Street preparing to make a left turn to Wilcox Boulevard. The Nissan turned in front of the Kia causing a head-on collision.
Mr. Edwards sustained serious injuries and was transported via Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital. The driver of the Kia, Rita Prater, 66, sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the Nissan, Donald Edwards, 64, was uninjured.
The Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office notified CPD on Tuesday that the passenger in the Nissan, Mr. Edwards, passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.
