  • Saturday, January 19, 2019
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to Mississippi State in its season opener in Birmingham, Ala., today.  The Mocs took on the Bulldogs at Samford to kick off the 2019 dual season.

"I thought we did pretty good today," stated head coach Chad Camper.  "We hung in there and I thought it was a good first dual match of the year.

"Lilly Holmes got her first win in a dual match, coming back to win in a super-breaker after losing the first set.  This was a good test for us leading up to our conference and I was pleased with our performance.  I look forward to tomorrow."

Holmes took on Meredith Roberts at No.
6, dropping the first set 6-2.  She came back to win the second 6-4, and took the super-breaker 10-4.

The Mocs open the home portion of their 2019 spring sechedule tomorrow against Austin Peay.  First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at McCallie's Strang-Voges Tennis Center in Chattanooga.  Be sure to check back to GoMocs.com for complete results.
