Tennessee Governor-elect Bill Lee announced his appointment of Judge Brandon Gibson to serve as a senior advisor in the Office of the Governor, a cabinet-level position.
“Brandon is a principled conservative with deep rural roots in our state,” said Governor-elect Lee. “She is widely respected for her service on the Court of Appeals and I am honored that she will continue her commitment to public service in this administration.”
Judge Gibson, of Crockett County, currently serves as a judge on the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Western Section and is the only woman in this role. Previously, she was a partner at Pentecost & Glenn law firm in Jackson. In addition to Judge Gibson’s legal expertise, she earned a masters of agricultural business management from Mississippi State University and grew up on a soybean farm. She is an active member of the community who currently serves on the Crockett County Imagination Library Foundation Board of Directors and also serves as the national director for Tennessee High School Rodeo.
Judge Gibson’s new role as a senior advisor will include a broad portfolio with emphasis on long-term initiatives like criminal justice reform and prioritizing the needs of rural communities, officials said.
