Georgia Governor Names Kelly Loeffler To Take Isakson Senate Seat

Governor Brian Kemp has named Kelly Loeffler to take the U.S. Senate seat of Johnny Isakson, who is resigning due to health reasons.

 

Ms. Loeffler is the chief executive officer of Bakkt, a subsidiary of commodity and financial service provider Intercontinental Exchange.

 

She is the co-owner of the Atlanta Dream, a team in the Women's National Basketball Association.

Senator David Perdue said, “My number one goal is to continue the best economic turnaround in U.S.

history and focus on the needs of the people of Georgia. The only way to ensure that happens is to advance President Trump’s agenda in the U.S. Senate.

 

"While Senator Isakson leaves behind big shoes to fill, I look forward to working with Kelly Loeffler, my new partner in the U.S. Senate, to continue that positive change for Georgia and our country.”
