Three men with sledgehammers robbed Jared's Jewelers on Gunbarrel Road on Feb. 6 as part of a rampage across parts of the country.

Then on Saturday night three men with sledgehammers carried out a similar robbery at the Jared's at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Ala., on Saturday night, according to the Hoover Sun.

One of the men entered the Hoover store at 6:58 p.m. and slammed the display case with a sledgehammer. He was hidden behind a mask.

He said, "This is a robbery," then two other men with sledgehammers followed him in. The trio helped themselves to jewelry after smashing displays.

They left in a dark-colored car.

The robbery in Chattanooga was similar with one of the men with a gun. The men, who appeared to be in their 20s, used sledgehammers on display cases after threatening employees.

There was a similar robbery involving three men and sledgehammers at a Jared's in Chicago.
