A special event, Chattanooga Shamrock Run, was approved for a special events beer license at the meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board Thursday morning.

Wildside Online is a non-profit organization based in Florida that raises money used to promote health and wellness at schools. The group is putting on Chattanooga Shamrock Run’s inaugural event in Chattanooga that will take place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

There will be a four-mile run/walk along the riverfront and a “Lucky Leprechaun Kids Dash” for children. Beer will be sold at the finish line at Ross’s Landing, 201 Riverfront Parkway. Beer will only be allowed in the park, not on the Riverwalk.

Participants will be ID’d and given bright green wrist bands. Sign-ups are online. The cost for adults is $30 and $15 for children.
