Catoosa Voters Do Not Go Along With Special Tax For $12 Million Bridge Over Railroad Tracks At Graysville

  • Tuesday, March 19, 2019

Catoosa County voters did not go along with a one-percent county-wide tax increase to build a bridge over railroad tracks at Graysville. The project was pegged at about $12 million.

The vote result was 77.55 percent no and 22.45 percent yes.

The tracks have long been a bottleneck in the vicinity of Graysville and East Brainerd.

Emergency vehicles are among those getting stuck for long waits.

A plan to build a bridge across the tracks by Catoosa County was dependent upon the special tax funding.
