Quit Spending Taxpayers' Money On Legal Fees

  • Thursday, April 18, 2019

Last year, we elected Robin Smith to the House District 26 Seat. Since she took office she hit the street running representing us. Since then there was a lawsuit in an attempt to block the results of the election. This has costs us (citizens) thousands of dollars in legal fees.

The people spoke. It is done, it's over. Some three times this "frivolously political litigation" as it was so named by District 3 Commissioner Greg Martin, has been dismissed. Yet appeals continue to be filed. Why? What is the purpose? It's done, over. Move forward. Quit creating the need to spend taxpayers' good money wastefully on legal fees.

Yesterday in the weekly Hamilton County Commission meeting a resolution was filed by District 3 County Commissioner Greg Martin calling for the Democrats responsible for this expense to Hamilton County citizens to pay the legal fees for this "frivolous political litigation". Kudos to Commissioner Martin for bringing light to this issue and to District 8 Commissioner Tim Boyd who voted in favor.
