James Anthony Campbell, 68, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away recently in Lithonia, Georgia.
He was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System and was a Riverside High School Graduate. He also attended Chattanooga State Technical College. James served in the United States Navy. He was a respiratory therapist employed by Shepherd Spinal Center and Grady Hospital until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin F. and Ida Campbell, Sr.; brother, Benjamin F. Campbell, Jr.; sister, Shirley Ann Ricks; and beloved daughter, Carmenita Campbell.
Survivors include his former spouse, JoAnn Anderson; son, James Antoin (Yildiz) Campbell; daughter, Felicia Childs; grandchild, Kelly Campbell, all of Atlanta, GA; brother, William Lebron Campbell of Chattanooga; sister, Debra D. Campbell of Asheville, NC; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be on Friday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Jimmie Ingram as the eulogist. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
