Wade Ervin Ferguson, age 92, entered into rest, Monday, November 23, 2020 at a local hospital.
Wade was born July 27, 1928 in Holcomb, Ms., the son of the late Bill and Hazel Childs Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Luttrell, and granddaughter, Krista Newton.
Wade was a former member of Central Church of Christ and also Riverbend Church of Christ. He was owner of Professional Maintenance and he worked until November of 2019 before retiring.
Wade is survived by his wife of 36 years, Helen Moody Ferguson; sons, Mark (Van) Newton of Huntington Beach, California, Steve (Linda) Newton of Hazlehurst, Georgia; daughters, Beth (Todd) Looper of Dalton, Georgia, Jo Ellen (Jeff) Shields of Dalton, GA; sister, Virginia Luttrell of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Jay Satterfield, Molly Satterfield, Kayla (Josh) Chesnut, Micah Newton, Mathew Newton, Khloe Newton, Keren Newton, Jackson Newton, Jayden Newton, Davis and Annabelle Looper; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn Chesnut, and Saylor Blue Patterson.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wade Ervin Ferguson will be held, Wednesday Nov. 25, at 1 p.m. from Riverbend Church of Christ with Minister Barry Grider and Pastor Steve Newton officiating. Burial will be at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery in Hazlehurst, GA, with Herb Harris, Mark Newton, Jeff Shields, Mathew Newton, Davis Looper, Todd Looper and Micah Newton serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 1 p.m. at Riverbend Church of Christ.
