Johnny “JuneBug” Boswell, Jr., 59, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his residence.  

He was a member of the New Horizon Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. 

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Luetta Boswell; brother, Lance Boswell; grandparents, Harrison and Louella Boswell and Samuel and Ollie Thornton. 

Survivors include his sisters, Georgia Williams of Bronx, NY, Willie McClendon, and Johnnie (Vernard) Owens, both of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Larry Boswell of Oklahoma, Anthony Boswell of Atlanta, GA, and Harrison (Shawn) Boswell of Chattanooga, TN; uncle, Clyde (Marie) Thornton of Akron, OH; aunts, Mary Watts of Washington, DC, Penola Johnson, and Ollie G. Thornton, both of Bronx, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A memorial service will be on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Paul as the eulogist.
