Jesse Burts
Jesse Have Burts, 83, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in a health care facility in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
He was a 1956 graduate of AC Carter High School. He was a professional truck driver and worked for Johnson Motor Lines for many years. Jesse married the love of his life, Rosa Mae Shropshire, in 1962. He was a service tech for Advantage Health Care and retired in early 2000s. Jesse was a faithful member of and song leader for Alton Park Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Robbie Lee Burts; two sisters Peggy Burts and Sandra Reese; two brothers, Thomas and Ernest Burts, Jr.; and wife of 54 years, Rosa Mae Burts.
Survivors include his sons, Steve Jerome Burts of Rossville, GA, Ronald Christopher (Michele) Burts of Douglasville, GA, and Ricosta Sanchez Burts of Rossville; daughter; Jessie Mae Burts of Houston, Tx; grandchildren, Ciara Smith, LaDarrius Burts, Terence Burts, Kyndall Burts, Ashlee Burts, Shacovia Williams, Jicosta Burts, Ricosta Burts, Jr., Mya Burts, and Elijah Burts; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Nora Robbs of Gary, IN; other relatives and friends.
Jesse will lie in state on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Brother Phillip Henderson as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Summerville Cemetery in Summerville, Georgia.
