Police Blotter: Power Surge On Camden Street
posted January 20, 2007

An EPB official said he had to go several times to shut off power at 1904 Camden St.

Ron Hastings said there were several instances of "unauthorized service" at that address. He said the last time he went he removed the electric box.

But then it was found that the power was running again at 1904 Camden.

Mr. Hastings checked and found that an electrical box had been stolen from 2010 Camden and put into service at 1904.

The resident at the address was charged with theft under $500.

Justine Morrison of Hardy Street came home to find the front and back doors wide open.

Thieves got a 52" Samsung TV, a 32" Samsung TV, a Sponge Bob TV, a DVD player and her baby clothes.

Jean D. Pracht said she parked at the Brainerd United Methodist Church and went inside. She left her purse under the front passenger seat.

When she returned to the car, she saw that someone had apparently tried to get in a car window by prying it with a pen.

They proceeded to break out the front passenger window and take her purse.

At La Michoacanan at 1820 E. Main St., thieves knocked out the front window.

They snatched 14 soccer jerseys and five Spanish CDs. The items were worth $570 and the window damage was $200.
