Monroe County Jury Returns Guilty Verdict In Meth Case posted January 23, 2007 A Monroe County jury on Tuesday took an hour to find Bruce D. Colvin guilty as charged of attempted manufacturing methamphetamine. Detective Michael Morgan and other officers with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to a location to serve an unrelated warrant on Colvin. Officers found Colvin at a residence that contained a fully operational meth lab. Officers testified part of the manufacturing process was underway at the residence Attorney Bill Donaldson, who represented Colvin, argued that Colvin was not guilty and had no knowledge of the manufacturing of methamphetamine at the residence. Prosecutor Andrew Freiberg countered that Colvin was at a residence while part of the process was underway. The jury fined Colvin $5,000. A sentencing date was set for a later date and Colvin faces a sentence of four to eight years as a Range II offender. |
