House On Olive Street Damaged In Morning Fire posted January 29, 2007
Patrol Officer Galen Fugh with the Chattanooga Police Department was among the first to notice the fire while he was in the area on patrol. Officer Fugh reported the fire to 9-1-1 Communications, and, when the first firefighters arrived on the scene, they were informed that the resident might still be inside. They immediately searched the entire house, but no one was found inside. Battalion Chief Mike Knox said the firefighters got the blaze under control in roughly 15 minutes. The resident of the home was reportedly away at the time of the fire. Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called in to provide assistance to the victim. A fire investigator was called in to determine the cause and origin of the fire, which is undetermined and under investigation. |
