EPB Begins Construction Of 200th Habitat House
posted March 28, 2007

EPB in partnership with Habitat for Humanity's Chattanooga Chapter, HabiChatt, will kick off April, the environmental awareness month, with the construction of 200th Habitat house. EPB is constructing the first Earthcraft designed Habitat house in Chattanooga.

Earthcraft is a green building program that serves a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that are energy efficient and protect the environment. Based upon the design of the house and the lifestyle of the homeowner, the owners of EPB's Earthcraft designed home can expect to see a monthly savings of 30-50% on their heating and cooling costs-a great savings comparable to their neighbors.

EPB employees will begin the construction by building the exterior
walls of the house on Wednesday, April 4 at noon at the Republic Parking Lot located at 1001 Market Street.

The kick-off will be Wednesday, April 4 at noon in the Republic Parking Lot, 1001 Market Street (located directly across the street from the entrance of EPB's Parking Garage)
